Venice!

It has been a while since my last post, but it is because I have been traveling all over the world for the past few weeks (kinda). We started out by going on a field trip to Venice and then Tyne and I left for Nice, France and then Dublin, Ireland. This post is going to be about Venice then I will do Nice and Ireland hopefully tomorrow!

We were in Venice for three days and it pretty much rained the entire time we were there. We still went out and saw St Mark’s Cathedral, the Doges Palace, the modern art museum, and the canals but it was just really wet.  I thought Venice was visually appealing, but I was definitely happy to leave when the trip was over. We had to ride little bus taxi things to get around the city and I felt like I was rocking on a boat the whole time I was in Venice. Also, the people there are definitely the rudest I have encountered. I guess they’re just tired of tourists, but so far this semester they take the crown for the rudest people.

Some highlights of the trip:
Tommy came to visit! The Sunday before we left for Venice I went to Rome to pick him up and it was really great to see him and to show him around where I’ve been staying this semester! We had a wonderful time and of course we had to take a few awkward pictures

1.

Two of my favorite teachers from high school chaperoned a trip of high schoolers to Italy and we were in Venice at the same time so I got to see them for a little bit! It was great to be able to meet up with them half way across the world! It was also great to see some of the high schoolers that I hadn’t seen since I graduated. Overall, just awesome!

1.  This one is great. My roommates and I always teach each other lessons, teach inanimate objects lessons, get taught lessons by people, and get taught lessons by inanimate objects. This basically happens when someone or something does something unfavorable to you. Tyne and I were trying to take an emo/ O.C. picture on some rocks when a huge wave came up over the rocks we were standing on and soaked both of us. This picture caught us right at the moment the Adriatic Sea taught us a huge lesson. We had to walk back to our hotel wet and cold. Shout out to Tommy for this great picture

Overall, I had a great time on this trip, and was kinda sad that it was our last 3 day field trip. This whole experience has been so wonderful for me and time is flying way too fast. I have learned so much this semester- mostly more about art and architecture than I could ever use, but also about myself and life in general. I have learned that you can’t ignore it when life starts changing in front of you and sometimes that means making difficult decisions to go where you need to go. I have never felt so independent or so adventurous in my life and I am loving every second.

Spring Break post soon! I can’t believe people actually read this- you guys are awesome! Love you all!
